Martijn’s debut in Taiwan

Martijn will conduct the opening concert of the Weiwuying International Arts Festival, jumping in for an indisposed Constantin Trinks. He will conduct the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra at Weiwuying in Kaohsiung.

The program will begin with Tchaikovsky’s Fantasy Overture Romeo and Juliet. Afterward, internationally renowned violinist Inmo Yang will perform the rarely heard Concerto No. 1 by Polish Composer Karol Szymanowski.

After the break, the concert will conclude with Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8.

This concert is Martijn’s first return to the concert scene in Asia, after a highly acclaimed debut with the Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra in South Korea, in November 2024.
